School is likely to start after Rosh Hashanah, and have three days off in February next school year. The South Orange - Maplewood Board of Education will on Monday consider a draft of the <a href="http://www.somsd.k12.nj.us/189610121793241930/lib/189610121793241930/Draft_2013-14_SY_Calendar.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">2013- 14 calendar</a>.  The calendar sees school start on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013. This is later than usual due to the two-day Rosh Hashanah holiday on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 5 and 6. School will end on June 25, 2014.  Three "emergency closing" days are built into the calendar.
