Marilyn S. Schnaars, December 22, 1932-March 11, 2025, lived her entire life in the communities of South Orange and Maplewood. She graduated with Columbia High School’s class of 1951. Her contributions left an indelible mark on the many civic and spiritual groups of which she was a part.
The South Orange-Vailsburg United Methodist Church, South Orange, of which she was a member for 87 years, has established the Marilyn S. Schnaars Legacy Memorial Fund to be used to memorialize her name in the church’s chapel. Memorializing her name will not only honor her, but serve a a permanent reminder to all who enter the chapel of the profound difference she made in the lives she touched.

All are welcome to attend the 10:00 AM Memorial Worship Service and 11:30 AM Dedication Ceremony at the church March 15, 2026. The church is located at 150 South Orange Avenue (corner of South Orange Avenue and Prospect Street), South Orange.
