Checking Out Main Street South Orange

In the weeks before Celebrate South Orange, Eden Gourmet and Above helped MSSO raise funds at the register. Kiah Lee was recognized for her winning ways.

In the weeks leading up to Celebrate South Orange, Main Street South Orange (MSSO) and Eden Gourmet's market and Above Restaurant collaborated to raise funds for and awareness of the organization. Shoppers and diners alike were offered a chance to add to their total with a donation to MSSO; the cashier whose shoppers donated the most was awarded a prize on Fri., July 17, 2010.

Kiah Lee was recognized for her efforts with a gift card presented by MSSO's Carole Anzalone-Newman and Adena Traub. At the same time, Eden Gourmet's Thom Spivack presented checks to MSSO.

"This was a win-win for us," said Spivack. "Not only did it benefit the community, but we had a lot of customers asking about Main Street." Each store register had a laminated card that listed MSSO events. Spivack explained that Eden Gourmet employees drew customers' attention to the organization and its activities.
