Columbia High Magic Club Shows on Saturday

The talented group performs twice

The magic is back on Saturday at Columbia High School’s Black Box Theatre.  The Magic Club presents It’s Magic, A Magic Show for All Ages on June 4 at 11a.m. and 1 p.m.

Michael Healy, who advises the Magic Club, says this year’s performance is not to be missed. “You’ll see many styles of magic,” he promises, since there will be a variety of performers. Also, in what Healy notes is a breaking of tradition in the broader world of performance magic, one of Saturday’s magicians is a young woman, and her assistant is a young man.

“It’s a very exciting show,” says Healy, noting that CHS in Action Night offered a brief taste of what audience members can expect to see on Saturday. "It's a talented, talented group of kids."

Besides the magic and mayhem of life performance, audience members will another incentive to attend. A portion of the proceeds – tickets are $5 each – benefits Spread the Magic foundation. Spread the Magic benefits children with cancer by creating live magic shows for children battling cancer for cancer hospitals, camps and foundations, and funding services for the oncology survivorship program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Doing good and having fun is as easy as pulling a rabbit from a hat, this Saturday at CHS.
