Gas Line Rupture, Now Repaired, Disrupted Traffic, Evacuated SHU

The line has been repaired

A ruptured gas line that caused traffic diversions and some building evacuations at Seton Hall University this afternoon, has been repaired. SHU staff confirm that a gas line was hit during construction work on a parking lot.

Traffic was diverted from the South Orange Avenue entrance to the Ward Place entrance during the repair, which was complete by 3:30 p.m. The South Orange Fire Department and PSE&G were on site.
