Good News for Dreamcatcher and Dept of Recreation and Cultural Affairs

NJ State Council on the Arts awards two local organizations

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre and the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs received good news on Tuesday. Both organizations will receive funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for Fiscal Year 2011.

Dreamcatcher will receive $5150, up from $5000 last year. The Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs will receive $9929, up from $9246 last year. Nearly $16 million dollars was awarded this year to more than 800 organizations, projects and individual artists. The three largest grants were also claimed by Essex County: the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will receive $1,175,557; NJPAC will receive $1,121,508; and the Paper Mill Playhouse will receive $757,273.
