Help Win 1,000 Lbs. of Dog Food for Jersey Animal Coalition
Michele Hollow needs your vote to win food for the Jersey Animal Coalition Animal Shelter in South Orange.

Michele C. Hollow, author of the local blog Pet News and Views, is trying to help feed shelter dogs through a special contest.
She needs locals to leave a comment or ask a pet nutrition question at Pet News and Views (http://www.petnewsandviews.com) today, July 11.
For each comment or pet nutrition question left on the Pet News and Views blog, Iams will donate 10 bowls of food to the Jersey Animal Coalition in South Orange. While this contest will run July 11-15, Hollow says that you must leave your comments in the July 11 post in order for it to count.

Hollow, a South Orange resident who writes the animal welfare blog Pet News and Views, teamed up with Iams at the holidays. At that time, she asked her readers to leave comments about their rescued pet. For each comment, Iams donated pet food to animal shelters across the country. The Pet News and Views blog garnered over 500 comments, which added up to thousands of bowls of food for cats and dogs at animal shelters all over the country.
“This time, Iams asked me to do another contest to draw attention to two new all-natural food products they are launching in July,” said Hollow. “I asked them if we could do a contest that would benefit my local animal shelter, and they agreed.”

“Animal shelters around the country are in desperate need of supplies—everything from pet food to leashes, cleaning supplies, kitty litter, and more. If I get 100 comments on my blog—Iams is capping the comments to 100—then Iams will donate 1,000 meals to Jersey Animal Coalition.”
The Pet News and Views’ post on July 11 will feature the contest. Subscribers can either post a comment about their adopted pet or ask a pet nutrition-related question, which will be forwarded to Dr. Marcie Campion, a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Nutrition and the Scientific Relations Manager at P&G Pet Care. A follow-up post will include answers to all of the pet nutrition questions.
Hollow also hopes to gain more subscribers to her newsletter from the contest.
“I would love it if people subscribe too,” she adds. “Subscriptions are free. I would also love it if everyone would adopt their next pet from a shelter or rescue group.”
