Middle School Technology Topics Announced; Musical Theatre Approved

While the new middle school technology curriculum will be presented to the South Orange - Maplewood Board of Education in August, the three grade-level topics were announced on Monday night. These classes will begin in September.

Sixth graders will study the ethical use of the internet, including research and correct citation of sources.

Seventh graders will learn computer-assisted drafting.

Eighth graders will study television production.

In other curriculum news, the board gave approval to develop a course entitled "Musical Theatre." Details and a course of study will be presented to the board for adoption before classes begin.
