Last year's race raised $12,000 and saw some 350 locals -- walking, running and pushing strollers -- cross the finish line. The race begins at South Mountain Annex and loops through the Newstead neighborhood.

“It’s fun to see the quiet neighborhood streets of Newstead transformed into a fun-filled event for families and friends,” said Race Founder Helen Dubowy.  “The race has grown since it was adopted as an annual event by the Achieve Foundation.  Their board and volunteer committee get involved with every aspect of the planning.  People start coming up to me in July asking what color this year’s t-shirts will be – it has become a much anticipated community race.”
