NJ.Com: Pets Welcome at State Emergency Shelters

Bring supplies along with your pets.

Governor Chris Christie says residents who head for a state emergency shelter can bring their cats and dogs. Pet owners are asked to bring supplies, pet food, a leash, a kitty litter box and/or pads and a carrier.

"No one should be staying in their homes in an endangered area because they feel like they can't bring their pets with them," Christie said.
