Obituary: Fred Gayder
A Memorial Blessing was held in honor of Fredrick Gayder's 90th Birthday and Father's Day.

Fredrick E. Gayder, 89, of Bayville, NJ, passed away at home on February 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born and raised in Newark, NJ, lived most of his life in South Orange, NJ, vacationed at his cottage
in Manasquan, NJ, and resided since 1985 and through retirement off the Barnegat Bay in Bayville.
Fred retired as the Chief of Police in South Orange, NJ, in 1988, and then worked at the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office until his full retirement in 1997. Fred was proud to be a WWII Veteran in the US Marine Corp - Semper Fidelis. He attended the Newark Arts High School, was a graduate of the F.B.I. Academy, and Rutger's University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminology.
Fred loved the Jersey Shore. He enjoyed boating and fishing, walking the boardwalk, and visiting Atlantic City. He was a lottery enthusiast and had fun going to the race track with his wife and brother Bob. He enjoyed visiting flea markets, garage and rummage sales. Fred was a fun caricature cartoonist to his family and humorously captioned photos. He loved music, visiting museums, was an avid reader and a movie enthusiast.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaret Foley Gayder; his children: Eileen Gayder, Vincent Gayder, Paul Gayder (pre-deceased), and Claire Gayder Misale; his five grandchildren: Elizabeth Gayder, Vincent Gayder, Sean Gayder, Erik Gayder, and Regina Misale; his brother Bob Gayder; as well as many caring nieces and nephews, and in-laws.
