Police Blotter: Arrests for Possession of Marijuana and Underage Drinking

*Ian Austin, 25 , of Maplewood and Jane Mettle, 24, of South Orange were arrested on April 29 at approximately 4:25 a.m. after an officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana inside the vehicle they were occupying. 

*A Mayhew Drive resident stated that sometime during the night of May 2, someone entered his unlocked 2011 BMW, which was parked in his driveway, and removed a gym bag, sneakers, various clothing and a pair of glasses. 

*A 2006 Toyota Corolla was reported stolen from a parking lot adjacent to South Orange Ave. on May 1.

*A Harding Dr. resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of April 28 someone damaged the driver's side door lock of his 2005 Audi TT, but the car was not entered.

*A Village Green Ct. resident stated that sometime between April 29 and May 1,  an someone stole his 1999 Jeep Cherokee from the driveway.

*Matthew Benson, 19, a Seton Hall University student, was arrested on April 29 after he was observed exiting A&D liquors in possess of alcoholic beverages. 

*A South Orange Ave. resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours of April 28,  someone forced open the door to his vehicle by prying the lock. A GPS unit, the owner's manual and an ATM card were stolen.
