Police Blotter: Attempted Robbery; Lewdness; Scam

*Paul Soranno, 19, and Giovanni Interra, 18, Seton Hall University students, were arrested on Arpil 28  at approximately 8:20p.m.  after they were observed leaving University Liquors on South Orange Ave. in possession of alcoholic beverages. 

*A juvenile was arrested on April 27 after she was observed concealing $57 worth of merchandise in her clothing while in Pathmark supermarket. 

*A woman stated that on April 27 she was sitting on a bench at the platform of the  train station when a man exposed himself. The man is a black male in his mid 30's, approximately 5'8" in height and was wearing a blue sweater and gray sweatpants. 

*A Newark resident stated that on April 26  she parked her vehicle, but did not lock, her vehicle on Park Pl. When she returned  from jogging in Grove Park  she discovered that her pocketbook had been stolen from her unlocked car.

*A Maplewood resident stated that on April 27 at approximately 11:50p.m. he was walking on Prospect St. in the area of Montague Pl. when he was approached by two black males.  One brandished a black handgun. The victim yelled and ran down the street and the actors fled away on foot.

The actors are described as being between 16-18 years of age. The actor with the handgun is described as being 5'10" in height, skinny build, wearing blue jeans and a dark colored sweatshirt. The second actor is described as being short and stocky and was wearing black pants and a black and white sweatshirt. No proceeds were taken from the victim. 

*An elderly  Montrose Ave. resident stated that on April 26, at approximately 9 am she met a woman at her front door who claimed to have lived in the area in the past. The victim allowed the woman into her residence, and the woman claimed that her car was broken down and that she needed money.

The victim left the woman alone in her home to go to the ATM and when she returned, she discovered items had been stolen from her pocketbook which was in the kitchen. The actor is described as a black female approximately 40 years of age and was seen wearing blue jeans and a white shirt.
