Residents Urged to Lock Doors, Report Unusual Activity

Residents are urged to secure belongings in cars, homes, garages

The South Orange Police, in a release distributed through Neighborhood Watch groups, remind residents to lock and secure their belongings.

A "pattern of crime" has been established, where thieves check car and garage doors. When they find them unlocked, they are able to remove items, including GPS units and spare keys, and items such as bikes from garages.

Residents are urged to check their home, garage and car doors each night, and to call the SOPD immediately if anything is missing, seems out of the ordinary, or if there are unusual noises or if motion sensor lights go on.
