Updated: Due to the likelihood of rain for late afternoon and this evening, tonight’s free concert is being moved to SOPAC. The theater will open at 7pm and seating will be general admission. The food vendors that would be at Flood’s Hill will be in the circle outside SOPAC. Although food and beverages are not permitted inside the theater, tables and chairs will be set up in the lobby for patrons to enjoy their snacks.
Rock the House comes out to play on Wednesday for the final concert of the South Orange outdoor series. Local bands Mood Ring, Test Pattern, and bring their best to Floods Hill at 7:30 p.m., free of charge. Just for this concert, the musical collective dubs itself Rock the Hill.
This is Rock the Hill's third appearance on Floods Hill, though different bands perform each year. Mood Ring's David Gomberg notes that playing for locals is a highlight. "Playing for the home crowd is more deeply fulfilling as we consider our community very special," says Gomberg. "The bands that perform are made up of very talented musicians indicative of the vast support for the arts that exists in SOMa. Rock the Hill is part of our community's musical collaboration Rock The House New Jersey, a rock concert series that began as a way to support local talent."
