Scholarship Fund Supports CHS Graduates
This year, 62 Columbia High graduates received a total of $66,500 in scholarships.

It's a fact that many in the towns aren't aware of: The Columbia High School Scholarship Fund (CHSSF) gives out tens of thousands of dollars to scores of gradutating Columbia High students every year.
This year, CHSSF awarded $66,500 in scholarships to 62 graduating seniors who are attending colleges or training schools this fall.
The scholarship program was established 85 years ago as a nonprofit New Jersey Corporation whose sole purpose is providing financial assistance to Columbia High School seniors and graduates needing help to pay for higher education of any kind. To date, more than 5,000 students have received scholarships worth more than $1,000,000.

The Fund is the largest provider of scholarships in the South Orange/Maplewood community. Many recipients are the first in their families to attend college and the scholarships they receive are an integral part of helping them reach this goal.
Over the years, grants have been made to students attending two or four year colleges, nursing schools, beauty schools, trade or technical schools, as well as graduate schools. The Fund is governed by a group of community volunteers independent of the Board of Education. CHSSF is a 501 (c) (3) organization and all contributions are fully tax-deductible. More information can be found on the website: www.chssf.org.
