Seton Hall Earns Top U.S. News Rankings in Health Professions

Physician Assistant, Healthcare Management, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy & Speech-Language Pathology receive national recognition.

In the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best Graduate Schools, five programs in Seton Hall University’s School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) achieved top-third national rankings — reinforcing the University’s stature as a regional and national leader in health professions and healthcare administration.

“The new rankings highlight Seton Hall’s long-standing commitment to excellence in healthcare education,” said Vikram N. Dayalu, Ph.D., CCC-S.L.P., interim dean of SHMS. “Our programs prepare graduates with outstanding academic and clinical training, along with a deep dedication to compassionate care — a hallmark of Seton Hall’s Catholic mission.”

SHMS programs achieved notable gains across disciplines:

  • The Master of Science in Physician Assistant program climbed six spots to No. 14, placing it among the top seven percent of all programs nationwide and the No. 2 Catholic physician assistant program.
  • The Master of Healthcare Management (M.H.A.) program rose eight spots to No. 33 nationally. It also ranks No. 15 among all private colleges and universities — and third among all Catholic M.H.A. programs in the nation. It is the only M.H.A. program in New Jersey offering both in-person and online formats.
  • The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (M.S.O.T.) program maintained its status as the highest-ranking M.S.O.T. program in New Jersey and ranks among the top 22 percent of all programs in the nation at No. 61.
  • The Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) program moved up nine spots to No. 65, placing it in the top 25 percent of programs nationwide after climbing 18 spots in the past two years.
  • The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (M.S. in S.L.P.) program also continued to hold its position as the top-ranked program in the state, ranked No. 92 nationally and among the top 32 percent nationwide.
