SOMS Kids Clean It and Green It

Students Receive $50 For Their Winning Entries from Main Street South Orange.

Students at South Orange Middle School are teaming up with members of Main Street South Orange and working together to institute an anti-litter, recycling and pride campaign to take care of, and beautify, South Orange Village.
The first part of the campaign, named “Clean and Green,” featured a poster contest to create awareness of and excitement about the benefits of having a clean community.
South Orange Middle School students winners, who received $50 for their efforts from Main Street South Orange, were honored at a South Orange Village Trustees meeting and their posters will be displayed around town.
Congratulations go out to Katie Morton, Maya McCombs, Abi Erhamza, Samantha Reichgut, Oluomachi Onyekwere, Gabrielle Howell, Khashari Wilson, Sofia Donald and Tyler Reininga.
Future campaigns include a YouTube video contest, Adopt a Street, Clean Up Contests, and a police “Good Work” ticket program which will allow local law enforcement officers to reinforce good behavior.
