South Orange Campers Take the Field

Jennifer DaSilva was nervous. As director of the Summer Playground Program, the day camp run through the Recreation Department, DaSilva was responsible for the camp's annual field day, a large-scale event with bounce houses, a ball pit, a blow-up dinosaur, and activities galore for town campers. The campers and counselors were ready for action, she knew, but would the weather cooperate?

Thursday dawned sunny, breezy and much cooler than recent days. DaSilva was able to relax and make jokes as she directed groups of campers from one activity center to another.

Counselors made cotton candy, played dj, crafted balloon animals, and seemed to have as much fun in the sun as the kids.
