South Orange Has Temporary Cooling Centers Open This Week
The South Orange Library and the Village Hall will serve as cooling stations at least until Thursday.
SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — With the heatwave hitting New Jersey this week, residents are advised to take caution. And for those who need it, there are temporary cooling stations in town until at least Thursday.
Here are the opening hours:
South Orange Library, 65 Scotland Road

- Wednesday, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
- Thursday, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Village Hall, 76 South Orange Ave., Suite 302
- Daily until 4:30 p.m.
Anyone needing a cooling location after hours should call the South Orange Police at their non-emergency number, 973-763-3000.
