South Orange - Maplewood Villagers Seize Softball Victory

The travel team won in Cranford.

The 12U MSO Villagers travel softball team won the 12U Cranford Summer Softball Tournament on July 8. The girls played in the extreme weekend heat, fighting back from a 1-2 start in the seeding round on Friday and Saturday, and then winning three straight games on Sunday.

The 12U win came a week after the 14U team won their Cranford tournament. The head of the Cranford Softball League, Keith Hoffman, said, “In consecutive weekends, MSO demonstrated the strength of their program, as they won both the 14U and 12U tournaments.  Congratulations to a fine program, and a great group of coaches and players.”

The team includes Addie Nicholas, Cukie Johns, Olivia Smith, Grace Turvey, Sophie Goldman, Jordan Stephan, Ally Krause, Maya Goldner, Julia Rego, Dani Finkelman, Clementine Sherman, Connie Labat, Mary Cronin, Maggie Davis. Coaches  Alex Nicholas, Mike Labat, Chris Labat
