South Orange Obituary: Erma Johnson, East Orange High Graduate

East Orange native Erma Johnson passed away on Jan. 6.

The following obituary comes courtesy of Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home:

“Erma J. Johnson, 98 made her transition peacefully on January 6, 2015 in East Orange General Hospital.

“She was born in East Orange NJ to the late John c. Johnson and Mary Agnes Johnson on April 24, 1917.

“She lived her entire life in East Orange. She graduated from East Orange High School with honors and worked for Acme Supermarket in Montclair, NJ for most of her working career.

“Ms. Johnson loved animals and raised show dogs in her adult life.

“She is survived by her nephews: Richard of Newark, DE, Robert of Roselle Park, NJ and Larry of Pueblo CO., and nieces Diane of Myrtle Beach, SC and Nancy of Toms River NJ.”
