South Orange Resident Robert L. Zellan Dies At 89
Zellan was a past president of Sons of Zion Synagogue.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Obituary submitted by Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel:
Robert L. Zellan, 89, passed away at home on Sunday, October 7, 2018. He lived in South Orange for the past four years; Kennebunk, Me., for the previous twenty years; and earlier in Holyoke, Mass., where he was raised and lived the majority of his life.
He owned and operated Doane & Williams, Inc., an architectural millwork and cabinet-making company, with a hardware store and lumberyard in Chicopee, Mass. He was also past president of Sons of Zion Synagogue in Holyoke and served on the Urban Renewal Commission of Holyoke. He was a self-taught, lifelong student of architecture, poetry and history.

Bob was the loving father of Deborah Zellan (Steven Countermine), Andrea Zellan (Andrew Grossman), and Jonathan Zellan (Stephanie Marks), devoted grandfather of Isabelle, Gabrielle, Daisy, and Jesse, cherished brother of Alyce Hirsh, Marjorie Sherman, and the late Lorraine Greenspan.
A funeral service was held on Tues., Oct. 9, 2018 at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston. Interment following at Sons of Zion Cemetery, Chicopee, Mass.
