Wild West Montrose

The neighborhood sees birds and wildlife

The West Montrose neighborhood is bisected by the brook, inviting lots of interesting bird life to the area at all times of the year. In addition, this summer has seen many deer, including a mother and two fawns, in the area. Chipmunks have moved in, for the first time in recent memory. And, shy but persistent, a wild turkey has come to town.

Nick-named "Pavo" by this Patch editor, the turkey turns up unexpectedly, often in late afternoon, on the grounds of the Montrose School.
