Gregory Burrus Productions Brings “Jesus and Jazz” Back to Millburn With a World‑Class Lineup

MILLBURN, NJ — Live music ambassador Gregory Burrus is bringing another powerful edition of Jesus and Jazz to the community, featuring an extraordinary lineup of internationally acclaimed musicians. The monthly series blends worship, jazz, and community fellowship, and has become a beloved gathering for SOMA residents and music lovers across Essex County.
This month’s program features:

• Cyrus Chestnut, one of the most celebrated jazz pianists of his generation, known for blending gospel, classical, and straight‑ahead jazz with deep emotional power.
• John Lee, Grammy‑winning bassist, producer, and longtime musical director for the Dizzy Gillespie legacy ensembles.
• Winard Harper, master drummer, bandleader, and educator whose dynamic style has made him a leading voice in modern jazz.
• Lynette Sheard, acclaimed vocalist, actor, and community arts leader known for her five‑octave range and soul‑centered performances.

Hosted at Mount Zion AME Church in Millburn, the gathering offers a morning where “sound becomes sanctuary,” blending spiritual reflection with world‑class artistry. The event is free and open to all, with RSVP encouraged due to limited seating.
