Shooting Press Conference Canceled
Authorities originally planned to address media at 3 p.m.

Authorities have canceled an afternoon press conference which was planned to provide an update on the accidental shooting of a 6-year-old Toms River boy by his 4-year-old neighbor.
Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy originally planned the event for 3 p.m. at police headquarters, but officers there said it was canceled and has not yet been rescheduled.
The 6-year-old was shot in the head by a 4-year-old and reportedly is in serious condition Tuesday, according to Toms River police. The chief was joined by Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato during a Tuesday morning press conference to talk about the incident.

Mastronardy did not immediately return requests for more information on why the conference was canceled or when it will be rescheduled.
