Bay Avenue Crash Under Investigation

19-year-old taken to area hospital following Tuesday morning crash

Toms River police are investigating a Tuesday morning crash that sent a township man to the hospital. 

The crash occurred at 11 a.m. Tuesday on Bay Avenue and North Tunesbrook Drive, according to Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. 

Witnesses told police that the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by David Rembish, 56, was traveling westbound on Bay Avenue when a Jeep driven eastbound by 19-year-old Daniel Foley came into his lane, Mastronardy said.

Foley was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center as a result of the crash, according to the chief. His condition was not immediately known. 

A photo of the Jeep provided by police shows that the front of the vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash.

Traffic Safety Cpl. Paul worth is investigating the crash, Mastronardy said.
