Cats Saved As Fire Damages Mobile Home In Toms River
The fire has been deemed accidental and was brought under control quickly, officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Firefighters rescued five cats from a mobile home that caught fire early Thursday, fire officials said.
The fire on Aviary Way was reported about 7 a.m., said Matthew Janora, chief inspector with the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention.
There were no injuries, he said.

Firefighters found flames coming through the roof of the mobile home and soon determined the person who lived there had left home for the day, Janora said.
Five cats were still inside, but they were safely located and removed from the home, he said.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within about 15 minutes and stayed at the scene for about two hours, Janora said.
Toms River fire inspectors Ryan LaVigne and Dakota Oeskovic are investigating, and Janora said the preliminary findings indicate the fire originated in the kitchen and they believe it was accidental.
The Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Department, along with Silverton, East Dover, and Whitesville Fire Departments, responded.
