Inclusive Playground Set For Public Green Acres Hearing In Toms River

Public comment is being sought as Toms River applies for Green Acres funding for the inclusive playground at Clifton Avenue Park.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Monday on a proposal to build an inclusive playground at Clifton Avenue Park in Toms River.

The hearing is scheduled as part of the process of Toms River applying for Green Acres funding for the proposed playground and for improvements at Deer Hollow Park.

The public notice of the meeting says the Clifton Avenue Park proposal is for a playground design that would exceed the standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

It will "result in accommodating people with disabilities to the greatest degree feasible," the notice says.

The proposed improvements at Deer Hollow Park include a new playground area and repairs and reconstruction of the existing basketball courts and walking trail.

The hearing is set for 6 p.m. and will be held in the L. Manuel Hirshblond meeting room on the second floor at Town Hall, 33 Washington St.
