Kinnelon Police Faced 'Challenges' in 2012, Chief Says

Police issued more than 1,700 summonses, animal incidents and burglaries included in report.

Kinnelon police issued more than 1,700 summonses in 2012, according to an annual report provided to borough officials.

Councilman Gary Moleta read statistics from the report during a recent Kinnelon Council meeting. The meeting prior, Mayor Robert Collins praised the police officers for their work on a daily basis and particularly during Superstorm Sandy.

"This year had its challenges," Kinnelon Police Chief John Finkle said.

According to Moleta, 111 adults were arrested last year while 27 juveniles were arrested.
