County Library Collecting Books for Kids

Last year, the New Jersey State Library Association program collected 400 books for Morris County children with limited access to reading materials.

The Morris County Library is once again collecting new children’s books that will be distributed to needy youngsters in the county this holiday season, the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced via statement Wednesday.

The effort is part of the New Jersey State Library Association’s "Books for Kids" drive. Last year, the campaign motivated residents to donate a total of 400 new books to help the community.

New books for infants through teens may be dropped off in the Children’s Room at the county library, 30 East Hanover Ave. in Whippany, through Dec. 7.
The reading material will then be distributed to children and teens of area families who have limited access to books.

The Morris County Library is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. For more information about the library’s “Books for Kids” drive, call the
library at 973-285-6930.
