Springsteen Cover Band, 'The Smurfs' at the Pool This Week

A look at what's happening this week in Verona and Cedar Grove and what stories Patch plans to cover.

Marigold Mike returns to the Cedar Grove Public Library to talk about composting on Monday, from 4 to 5 p.m. Each participant will go home with their very own compost bin! Registration required.

The Verona Town Council will meet on Monday at 7 p.m.

The Verona Board of Education will convene on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Free movie nights at the Verona Pool continue Wednesday with a screening of “The Smurfs”. The pool is open on Family Nights to all Verona residents from 7 to 10 p.m. The movies will begin at dusk on the basketball courts.

Verona's free Concerts in the Square continue on Wednesday with "The B-Street Band", a Bruce Springsteen cover band, at 7 p.m. Bring your own blankets, beach chairs and picnics.

Verona Summer Music will present Guys & Dolls on Thursday and Friday, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. The cast is made up of 60 students ranging in age from 9 to 16. The show will again be directed and choreographed by Jen Faliveno, musical director John Priori and as always, the entire summer music program is under the direction of Max Morden.

The Morgan Farms farm-stand in Cedar Grove will be open Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon.
