C.G.Elks' "Hoop Shoot" Free Throw Contest set for Nov 18th, CG HS gym.

Annual Basketball Free Throw contest run by the Cedar Grove Elks.

The Cedar Grove Elks, in cooperation with the CG Rec. Dept., will be hosting its annual "Hoop Shoot" Basketball free throw contest on Friday November 18, 2022 at the Cedar Grove High School Gym, starting at 6:30pm. Age groups for both boys and girl competing separately will be 8-9 / 10-11/ 12-13. Age brackets will be determined by the age of the contestants as of April 1st, 2023. Contestants will shoot a total of 25 shots in two sets. Best score wins the age/gender bracket. Winners move on to the Elks District competition in Nutley in December.

Cost is Free, and kids from both Cedar Grove, Verona and the Caldwells are welcome to compete. You don't have to be a great player to participate in the Elks' Hoop Shoot, it's a fun competition experience for all! ** for more info contact CG Elks Hoop Shoot Chair Tony Luongo 973.780.7822**

Winners at the Elks District competition head to the Regional contest in Wilkes Barre PA. Then winners from there goto the National Elks Hoop Shoot contest in Chicago. Winners at Nationals get their names permanently engraved on the Elks "Hoop Shoot" Plaque displayed at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
