Gasalberti, Douglas passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at St. Joseph University Medical Center. He was 69. Born to Winifred (Messer) and the late Martin Gasalberti, he resided in West Milford most of his life in the house his father built. Doug owned Cedar Grove Divers Supply with his beloved wife Diane. They were married 46 years this past March. Doug was a scuba diving instructor and also trained local area police and fire departments. He enjoyed teaching swimming and planning dive trips to exotic places. He was also an avid hunter. Surviving are his brothers-and-sisters-in-law Nina Buonomo and her husband Richard, Peter Carelli and his wife Monica, and Michael Carelli and his wife Karen; his nieces and nephews: Rich and his wife Lindsey, Janine and her husband James, Peter John, Jillian, Jamie, Joseph, Joy, and John; and his great-nephew, Julian. Also surviving are his Aunt Mary Gasalberti, cousins Candice and Tim Nguyen and their daughter Taelyn, as well as many other extended family members. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 4-8PM at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 11 2023, at 11AM at St. Joseph Church, 454 Germantown Road, West Milford. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doug's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
