Obituary: Lorraine E. Chiusolo

Lorraine E. (nee Ciser) Chiusolo, 82, of Jersey City, the mother of Cedar Grove councilman Joseph Chiusolo, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012. 

Mrs. Chiusolo was born in Jersey City in 1930 to the late Harry and Anna Ciser and was a lifelong resident of the city. 

She was a proud homemaker, devoted to her children and the Catholic faith. 

Mrs. Chiusolo was the husband of Capt. John L. Chiusolo of the Jersey City Fire Department, who predeceased her in 1986. In addition to being Joseph Chiusolo’s mother, she was also the mother of Gerard (Valerie) Chiusolo, John (Valerie) Chiusolo, Maria (Gregory) Prokopenko, Anthony (Kimberly) Chiusolo of the Jersey City Fire Department and the late Lorraine Chiusolo.

She was also the stepmother to Betty Ann Johnson, John L., Jr. and Lawrence. She was the grandmother of Gerard, Lauren, Christopher, Daniella, Johnny, Valisa, Hannah and Anthony and the step-grandmother to Jason, Dennis, Justin, Brittany, Adam and Ryan and sister to Harold J. Ciser and also the late Mary Kossman and Catherine Bello as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral Mass will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas R.C. Church, 118 Ferry St. in Jersey City. 

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. 

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City.
