South End Fourth Grader Wins Bar Association Essay Contest

Ava Silverman's writes winning essay on treatment of students with disabilities.

South End Elementary School fourth grader Ava Silverman recently won an essay contest sponsored by the Essex County Bar Association.

The essay question was "What would you do if you saw a person making fun of a student with disabilities and what would you do to make sure that students with disabilities are treated the same as students who do not have disabilities."

Silverman's winning essay was entitled, "One Door Closes, but Another One Opens."
