Verona Police Investigate Afterglow Avenue Home break-in
The following information has been provided by the Verona Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

May 18: Employees of a Bloomfield gas station reported two men entered the office area of the station at 8:53 p.m. and stole two cigars without paying for them.
May 19: Verona police are investigating an incident at 8:41 a.m. on Sunset Avenue in which someone broke a bus window with an unknown object. An estimate of the damages was unavailable.
May 19: A Cypress Avenue resident told police at 9:55 a.m. someone took several portions of her fence and built a fort in the woods behind her home. Police retrieved the fence sections and returned them to the homeowner.

May 20: Verona police arrested Eddie Mestres of Newark at 6:48 p.m. after stopping him and discovering he had an outstanding warrant. Mestres was processed and released on bail.
May 22: Verona police are investigating the break-in and burglary of an Afterglow Avenue home at 1:03 a.m. in which the suspect(s) forced open the front door. Police said the burglars took cash, jewelry and personal papers.

May 23: Verona police were called to a Cumberland Avenue home at 11:16 a.m. when a resident reported his neighbor was trespassing in his rear yard. The neighbor was advised to stay out of the yard.
