Verona Voices Seeks Singers, Accompanist

Chorus draws members from all over Essex County.

Verona Voices — formerly the Verona-Cedar Grove Chorus — is gearing up for the fall season.

The chorus is looking for new singers. An open house is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m., in the H.B. Whitehorne Middle School music room (enter through Terry’s Drugs municipal lot), to give prospective members a feel for the group. The open house will be followed by a rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.

No audition is necessary for the chorus, which despite its name has members from around the county.

Verona Voices is currently seeking an accompanist. Paul Villarreal has been with the chorus since 2009 and is relocating.

"We're really going to miss him," Tom Jung, President of Verona Voices, said in a release. "Not only was he a superb and dedicated pianist, but he had a good voice and would sometimes sing to help us learn our parts."
