Winning $338M Powerball Ticket Sold in New Jersey

State lottery officials will announce the name of retailer who sold winning ticket Monday.

It may have taken 13 Powerball drawings before a winner was found, but someone in New Jersey woke up a bit richer this morning — $338.3 million richer.

After a Virginia man stepped forward on Feb. 6 to claim a $217 million jackpot, the jackpot kept rolling over until Saturday night’s winner, according to a report on CBSNews.com.

New Jersey Lottery officials said Sunday details about the winning ticket would be released Monday, March 25 at 10 a.m. at state lottery headquarters in Lawrenceville, including the name of the retailer who sold the winning ticket. Lottery officials Sunday declined to reveal where the winning ticket had been purchased and whether anyone had immediately come forward. It was the sixth largest jackpot in history.
