WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — An injured fox that's stuck in a piece of plastic has been wandering around Washington Township.

Meet "Bingo," a fox that a local animal-welfare group has been trying to capture so she can get treatment. Bingo may be pregnant, and she suffers from mange, which is progressing quickly.

Since September, her front leg has been trapped in a corrugated plastic pipe that's been stuck around her neck, according to An Itch In Time - Mangy Fox Rescue, the nonprofit trying to catch and rescue her.

Local senior citizens have been spreading the word about Bingo, who has been seen around the Washington Township Senior Center (315 Greentree Rd.) and police station (1 McClure Dr.).

Mangy Fox Rescue and local officials are urging people not to feed Bingo, since it's making it harder to capture her.

"She continually visits our traps but is not desperate enough to go in yet for the food," Mangy Fox Rescue said on Monday. "We are begging people to bring in the food they leave for feral cats in the area. Get the ferals to eat briefly a times and not allow them to graze all day. Also, do not feed her directly either."

Bingo can run up to 25 mph and is "impossible to corner," the nonprofit said.

Members of the public should not search for her, since that will only drive her away from the traps, according to Mangy Fox Rescue.

If you see Bingo, text her location to Mangy Fox Rescue at 609-491-3511.
