Here's How Many New COVID Cases Gloucester County Saw This Week

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — Gloucester County and New Jersey have seen an uptick in coronavirus cases. But what does that mean for the county?

As of Friday, there have been 28,985 coronavirus cases and 626 coronavirus-related deaths in Gloucester County since the pandemic began in March 2020.

This is an increase of 944 cases and two deaths from last week, when there were 28,041 coronavirus cases and 624 coronavirus-related deaths in Gloucester County.

Officials continue to monitor the delta variant, which accounted for 93.5 percent of coronavirus cases in New Jersey over the last four-weeks, according to data provided by the state department of health.

Gloucester County has "moderate" COVID activity, according to New Jersey's latest weekly report. The determination is based on metrics such as case rate, positivity rate and prevalence of COVID-like illnesses.

“We’re seeing cases rise every day, and it’s time to take action. If you have not already received your vaccine, please consider visiting our Vaccination Site,” Gloucester County Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger said. “Vaccines are available Tuesday through Friday at the Gloucester County Public Works Complex. No appointments are necessary.”

Third Dose Vaccinations are now available for immunocompromised individuals 12 years and older. COVID-19 Vaccinations are readily available for all individuals living, working or studying in the State of New Jersey.

Interested individuals can visit the Gloucester County Public Works Complex at 1200 N Delsea Dr, Clayton, NJ 08312. No appointments are necessary.

“Rapid testing is available by appointment at the Gloucester County Health Department. Please call 856-218-4142 to schedule Monday through Friday,” Damminger said.

As of Friday, Gloucester County has conducted 209,788 total tests. Of these cases, 180,803 have come back negative.
