How Many New Coronavirus Cases Were There In Gloucester County?
The variant accounted for more than half of NJ cases over a four-week period. Here's a look at the impact it's having on Gloucester County.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — Gloucester County and New Jersey have seen an uptick in coronavirus cases. But what does that mean for the county?
As of Friday, there have been 29,627 coronavirus cases and 629 coronavirus-related deaths in Gloucester County since the pandemic began in March 2020.
This is an increase of 642 cases and three deaths from last week, when there were 28,985 coronavirus cases and 626 coronavirus-related deaths in Gloucester County.

Officials continue to monitor the delta variant, which accounted for 80 percent of coronavirus cases in New Jersey over the last four-weeks, according to data provided by the state department of health.
Gloucester County has "moderate" COVID activity, according to New Jersey's latest weekly report. The determination is based on metrics such as case rate, positivity rate and prevalence of COVID-like illnesses.

“You can choose to protect yourself and your community from getting COVID-19 by getting the vaccine,” Gloucester County Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger said. “Vaccines are available Tuesday through Friday at the Gloucester County Public Works Complex. No appointments are necessary.”

COVID-19 Vaccinations are readily available for all individuals living, working or studying in the State of New Jersey. Interested individuals can visit the Gloucester County Public Works Complex at 1200 N Delsea Dr, Clayton, NJ 08312. No appointments are necessary.

“Rapid testing is available by appointment at the Gloucester County Health Department. Please call 856-218-4142 to schedule Monday through Friday,” Damminger said.
As of Friday, Gloucester County has conducted 214,345 total tests. Of these cases, 184,718 have come back negative.
