Lottery Ticket Nets $901K In South Jersey Amid Powerball Pandemonium
Lotto players around the nation have their eyes on the $1.7B Powerball prize, somebody won the jackpot in a different lottery game.
WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — As lottery players around the nation have their eyes on the $1.7 billion Powerball jackpot, one local ticketholder won a different lottery jackpot.
A ticket sold in West Deptford generated $901,672 by matching all five numbers in Tuesday's Jersey Cash 5 drawing. One Stop Shoppe (931 Red Bank Ave.) will receive $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The winning numbers were 15, 22, 32, 36 and 38, with an XTRA number of 03.

Meanwhile, the current Powerball jackpot would be the second-largest prize in U.S. lottery history. The next contest takes place Wednesday night.
The eventual Powerball winner can opt for an annuity doled out over 30 years. But most lottery winners choose the lump-sum option, which currently stands at $756.6 million.
The Powerball jackpot has ballooned for nearly three months, with the prize resetting after somebody won the $1 billion jackpot July 19.
Last November, a California ticketholder won the largest prize in national lottery history — a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot.
Powerball drawings take place at 10:59 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. New Jersey participants much purchase their tickets before 9:59 p.m. on those nights to qualify. See the rules.
