Man Fired Gun Into Woman's Car In South Jersey: Police
Shortly after the victim entered her vehicle, the suspect tapped a handgun against her car window, authorities said.
GLASSBORO, NJ — A man was arrested after authorities say he fired a handgun into a woman's car while robbing her earlier this month in Gloucester County.
The suspect — later identified as Shameek Brown — was charged on Monday for his alleged role in the April 1 incident in Glassboro.
Brown, 32, of Glassboro, was served his charges at the Salem County Correctional Facility, where he's being held on unrelated charges, police said on Wednesday.

At around 9:15 p.m. April 1, the victim left a home and got into her car on the 200 block of MacClelland Avenue. Brown tapped on her car window with a handgun and demanded her purse, police said.
When the victim refused to open her car door, Brown fired into her vehicle, breaking out a window, police said. He then took her purse and fled the scene, according to law enforcement.

Police reported no injuries.
In the ensuing days, detectives "worked tirelessly" to develop investigative leads, according to Glassboro police. On April 11, they searched the Hollybush Gardens Apartments in Glassboro and found multiple pieces of evidence, including the victim's belongings, police said.
Brown was charged Monday with robbery (first-degree), theft (third-degree), hindering (third-degree) and various weapons offenses.
Attorney information for Brown was unavailable in online court records as of Wednesday morning.
