Man Killed In Crash With Tree In South Jersey

His car veered off the roadway before the deadly collision, officials said.

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man was killed when his car struck a tree Thursday night in Cumberland County, officials said.

State troopers responded to the crash at 8:27 p.m. on Parvin Mill Road in Deerfield Township. They identified the crash victim as Trevon Johnson, 29, of Vineland.

Johnson was traveling westbound when his BMW sedan veered off the roadway to the left and struck a tree, according to State Police.

State Police conduct local law-enforcement duties for Deerfield Township, which doesn't have its own police department.
