SWAT Raid At Motel Room After Loaded Guns Stolen In South Jersey: Police
A SWAT team was called to a motel as authorities tried to track down the suspects.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man who stole multiple loaded guns from a Washington Township home and prompted a SWAT team to search a motel room was arrested on Thursday, police said.
Demarcus Taylor, 34, of Pemberton, was charged with burglary, theft and weapons offenses.
Police said there are multiple suspects in the case, but no other arrests have been announced as of Friday morning.

The investigation began late Tuesday afternoon, when officers were dispatched to the Cross Keys Community mobile home park in Washington Township. A homeowner had returned from work and discovered that someone stole multiple loaded handguns and rifles from their home, police said.
Officers developed leads and identified suspects, later seeing them enter a room at the Mayfair Motel in Sicklerville.

At about 5 a.m. Wednesday, the Gloucester County SWAT Team entered the motel room. The room was unoccupied, but authorities say they recovered several of the stolen guns.
On Thursday, two Washington Township officers saw Taylor waiting for an NJ Transit bus. He tried to run away and dropped a gun during the chase, but he was safely taken into custody, police said.
Taylor is also suspected of several other burglaries, and additional charges are pending, police said.
Attorney information for Taylor was unavailable in online court records as of this writing.
