Serial Robber James P. Taormina to Serve 14 Years

The Turnersville man was deemed 'a repeat offender who needs specific deterrence' by Judge Walter L. Marshall Jr.

Calline him "a repeat offender who needs specific deterrence," Judge Walter L. Marshall Jr. sentenced convicted robber James Paul Taormina to 14 years in New Jersey state prison today for his 2012 robberies of a TD Bank in Washington Township.

Marshall cited "Taormina’s juvenile record and four adult criminal convictions as well as his termination from the pre-trial intervention diversionary program" in passing sentence, according to a statement from the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

The 31-year-old Turnersville resident will serve concurrently a 13-year state prison sentence for his robbery of a Burlington County convenience store, and another 12 years for his robbery of 7-Eleven convenience stores in Gloucester Township, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

Taormina also received concurrent seven-year terms .

He was indicted on eight counts in all from the county prosecutors, and pleaded guilty to the Gloucester County incidents in January 2013.
