West Deptford Police Investigating Burglary of an Occupied Home
A home in the 200 block of Hessian Ave. was broken into early Wednesday morning in what police believe was an isolated incident.

A West Deptford resident was awakened early Wednesday morning by the sounds of an intruder in his Hessian Avenue home.
The intruder, who was unarmed, attacked and robbed the homeowner, police say, and fled with an undisclosed amount of currency.Â
The victim was taken to Inspira Medical Center (formerly Underwood) in Woodbury, and was released later that morning.

West Deptford police said the home was entered through an unlocked window some time between 3 and 4 a.m. June 5.
The burglary is being investigated as an isolated incident, said Chief Craig Mangano, but he urged all residents "to be vigilant, report anything suspicious in nature, and to keep their homes locked and their exteriors well lit overnight."
