Adult Improv with instructor Nick Sotack is a high-energy, empowering class designed for adults who want to sharpen their instincts, boost confidence, and reconnect with the joy of play. This course focuses on improvisation techniques that build spontaneity, active listening, ensemble work, and fearless creativity all in a fun, supportive environment.
Whether you’re brand new to improv or looking to strengthen your acting skills through improvisation, this class will help you trust your impulses, stay present, and make bold choices on stage.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR! – NICK SOTACK
Nick Sotack is a seasoned performer and educator with over 17 years of professional experience. He trained at Berklee College of Music, AMDA NY, and under the esteemed Christian Fletcher. Nick is an original member of the acclaimed comedy troupe Face Off Unlimited and a regular performer at NYC’s premier comedy venue, BATSU!, where he was praised as “Really Funny” by The New York Times.
His stage credits include the New York premiere of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Wall with CAMA Theatrics, Sons and Dogs: A New Folk-Funk Musical at Royal Family Theatre Times Square, and multiple performances at Carnegie Hall, including featured soloist appearances with Essential Voices USA and the New York Pops. Additional highlights include solo performances at Feinstein’s/54 Below, the premiere of Marvin Makes Music by Marvin Hamlisch, and playing Malvolio in Twelfth Night for Shakespeare in Foundation Park.
Nick’s film and television credits include ABC’s One Life to Live and Flirty Thirty. His choreography and staging work includes A Christmas Carol at Queens Theatre and the first revival of Swingtime Canteen at The Cherry Lane Theatre.
With a rich background in performance, comedy, and teaching, Nick brings a dynamic, playful, and supportive approach to improv that inspires students to take risks and have fun.
WHAT TO WEAR
Please dress comfortably and come ready to move and play!
We recommend: Loose, breathable clothing (yoga pants, joggers, t-shirts)
Closed-toe shoes or sneakers
No heels or restrictive clothing — improv is all about freedom, movement, and expression!
