Baby Boutique Opens In Downtown Westfield

Francis Henri opened in downtown Westfield on Friday, replacing the former Westfield Creamery.

WESTFIELD, NJ — For those looking to dress their babies in some adorable, stylish outfits, a new baby boutique in Westfield may be a new go-to spot.

Francis Henri baby boutique officially opened at the former Westfield Creamery location on Friday.

The store sells a collection of "high quality, modern clothing and accessories" for baby sizes 0 to 24 months, according to its website. In particular, Francis Henri highlights Australian, European and UK brands that are more difficult to find in the U.S.

Owner Katherine Oyer, a Cranford mom of three little ones aged six, three and one, always dreamed of opening her own brick & mortar boutique, and she spent the majority of her career climbing the ladder in and out of retail. According to her website, she started as a high school sales associate at American Eagle and later became a senior executive on the retail team at Neiman Marcus.

"The idea for Francis Henri was born from the heart of a travel loving girl who would spend hours scouring the internet, blogs and guidebooks to find the very best hidden baby boutiques each time she traveled to her dream destinations: Paris, Florence, Barcelona, Switzerland, and more - long before she became a mama herself," the website states.

With the vision of helping moms find quality clothing for their babies, Oyer had the idea to bring baby brands from all over the world to one speciality shop.

Customers at Frencis Henri can shop clothing items by destination. The places featured on the site include Australia, Barcelona, Paris and Portugal.

Beyond clothes, the boutique offers a variety of nursery items and decor, as well as toys, games and cards.

Francis Henri is geared toward newborns and children up to four years old.
